Context

What this needed to solve

Executive education has to reach two audiences at once: individuals choosing a programme for themselves, and organisations enrolling groups of their people. Those audiences arrive through the same public pages but need different paths once they commit. The public site and the learning experience had to be built as one connected product so that a visitor moves from reading about a programme to taking it without falling between two systems.

The Inflection Point delivers executive education to individuals and to organisations enrolling their own people. It needed a public presence that explains the programmes and a learning platform that delivers them, with the two working as one product rather than as a marketing site bolted to a separate system.

What was built

The system as delivered

  • A public website presenting the programmes and how they are delivered
  • Programme pages that carry a visitor from interest to enrolment
  • An authenticated learning platform where enrolled learners take their programmes
  • The connection between the public product presence and the learning experience
  • Responsive behaviour across the public and authenticated surfaces

Product decisions

Choices that shaped the product

One product, two surfaces

The public site and the learning platform were treated as a single product with a shared route into enrolment, rather than as a marketing site and a separate learning system that happen to link to each other. The visitor never has to work out which system they are in.

Separating public and authenticated surfaces

Programme discovery is public and indexable. Everything a learner does after enrolling sits behind authentication. Keeping that boundary explicit means the public pages stay fast and open while learner activity stays private.

Individuals and organisations on the same path

Both audiences discover programmes through the same public pages. The difference between buying a place for yourself and enrolling a group is handled after the decision to enrol, not by splitting the site in two.

Current state

The website and learning platform are live and in use. Alcra was the development partner responsible for implementation, and is no longer involved in maintaining it.
